A Trip Back in Time to the Larkin Administration Building

The Historical Association of Lewiston is pleased to present Jerry Puma with our April program: “A Trip Back in Time to the Larkin Administration Building.” The program will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, April 24 at the Lutheran Church of the Messiah Fellowship Hall, 915 Oneida Street in Lewiston.

Jerry’s program will take us back to architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s Larkin Administration Building in Buffalo, NY, which opened in 1906 and became a parking lot in 1950. The presentation will include a history of the Larkin Company, and through an examination of photos from the Larkin family and artifacts from the building and company in Jerry’s collection, we will learn about the significance and unique characteristics of a building regarded as one of the top ten architectural losses of all time.

Jerry Puma is a local historian and retired college professor. His passion for almost 50 years has been local architectural history and preservation. He currently has over 2000 Larkin Co. items in his collection and operates the Larkin Gallery in the former Larkin factory on Seneca Street.

This community event is free and open to all, and donations are greatly appreciated to help support our museum. Refreshments will be served. Join us for an informative evening learning about one of Western New York’s most prominent men and his company.
