We all experience change. Often it’s in small ways; sometimes change turns our lives upside down.
Buddhist teachings say that understanding change can help us in many ways. As well as heightening our sense of what is important to us in our lives, reflecting on the changing nature of life helps us to approach ourselves, others, and our world with greater ease, clarity and appreciation. Ultimately, reflecting on change can guide us to discover - paradoxically - what, if anything, lies beyond it. The fear that impermanence awakens in us, that everything changes, can be a springboard to finding a deeper freedom within.
During these 6 weeks, you'll explore simple yet powerful meditation methods—drawn from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition—that help us in settling our minds, opening our hearts, and making friends with change.
In addition to presentation, discussion and meditation practice, these popular Friday evening courses are also a great way to meet others and to benefit from a shared journey of learning and discovery!

Info: Our 'Meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition' courses run regularly throughout the year.
Each course in the series explores a key understanding and practice of the Buddhist path, running side-by-side with a gradual, experiential journey in 'calm-abiding' meditation, the foundational practice of meditation in Buddhist training.
Each course gives guidance on the principles and practical basics of meditation practice, and is open to anyone curious about Buddhism, meditation or their own mind. Over the course of the year, as well as meditation itself, these courses cover core Buddhist topics such as:
The vision behind meditation: what's the point of sitting still?
Loving Kindness: the revolutionary practice of the heart.
Training in compassion: what happens when we think more of others?
Reflecting on change: making friends with uncertainty.
Interconnectedness: dissolving the illusion of separateness.
Exploring different methods of meditation: different strokes for different folks.
