ABOUT The Fourth Street Preserve:
For More Info Visit:
https://osalewes.org/
For more than 350 years, the last remaining forest in Lewes has, and continues to serve as a natural reserve, flood abatement area, habitat for wildlife and plant species, and a contributor to heat and carbon reduction.
The Fourth Street Preserve was also the first land deeded to Lewes’ and Delaware’s earliest settler. It has been preserved by generations of local families, even as property all around it has undergone development.
The current owner has now placed the Fourth Street Preserve in trust to enable the Greater Lewes Foundation to purchase this environmentally important historic site. A conservation easement will ensure its permanent protection, with limited public access via rustic walking trails.
To achieve this, we must raise $8 million by September 15, 2025. Good progress is being made, but your donation is needed to help achieve our goal.
