✨ Translations by Brian Friel – An Experiential Immersion in the Donegal Gaeltacht ✨
📍 The Weaver’s Cottage, Dunlewey Centre, by Lake Dunlewey
📅 August 22–25, 2025
🕖 Evening shows at 7.30pm (with Silent Prelude at 7pm)
🕑 Matinee shows at 2.30pm (Aug 23 & 25 – performed indoors at The Weaver’s Cottage)
Step into the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht for a once-in-a-lifetime theatre experience.
Your journey begins with a shuttle bus trip to Glentornan Ghost Village – a hauntingly beautiful 19th-century settlement just across the lake. Here, a Seanachí (storyteller) will guide you into the world of memory, language, and loss.
Returning to Dunlewey under the shadow of Errigal, gather by a turf-lit fire in the atmospheric rafters of the Weaver’s Cottage. Before evening performances, take part in a silent prelude that deepens the sense of place and time.
Finally, be seated as seven of Ireland’s leading actors, joined by two English guest actors, bring Brian Friel’s masterpiece Translations to life in performed-readings that echo the cultural tensions and fragile connections of 1833 Ireland.
🎟 Tickets: €25 & €19.80 (Concession)
