Hannah Elizabeth and Griff Jameson create a stunning indie folk-roots sound which encompasses both their individual musical backgrounds of traditional folk and folk pop/rock. As a duo, they offer original songs rich in emotive storytelling and a harmony-driven sound with guitar, violin and exquisite vocals. This evening they'll be joined by Griff's brother Gafyn on keyboards and bass.
Previous festival and concert highlights for the duo include performances at Cambridge Folk Festival and the Great British Folk Festival where they won the Audience Choice Award, they were also proud to support Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra as part of their 2019 Autumn/Winter tour.
Regulars at the club will remember Adam Cooney, a young troubador who has played for us a few times now and has delighted our audience each time. Adam is an Oxfordshire-based folk musician who sings songs that are honest, melodic, and often melancholic. He is sometimes compared to James Taylor, Donovan and Ralph McTell. Adam’s most recent EP “Sun in The Sky” was recorded at L Sound London and has had radio play on various outlets including Acoustic Routes, The Acoustic Café Radio Show and The Folk Club.
We are delighted to welcome back to the club the always-entertaining Steve Warner. Singer/songwriter, producer, arranger, composer of folk and acoustic music, Steve has played live in a variety of folk clubs and festivals (Kimpton, Balstock, Ely, Edinburgh Fringe). He has years of experience of playing in front of a variety of audiences playing original, self-penned songs as well as carefully chosen covers.
So, a great lineup awaits this evening. Doors open 7:00pm. Free entry. Don't forget to bring some cash for the 'hat' and the raffle!
