We are delighted to welcome the Straffan Drama Club back to The Orchard for their second Culture Night performance. This year, they bring Oscar Wilde’s much-loved comedy The Importance of Being Earnest to life in the elegance of our Garden Centre on Friday, 19th September 2025.
From 6.00pm to 7.30pm, audiences will be treated to a sparkling satire of Victorian manners. Packed with razor-sharp dialogue, tangled romances, and more than a few mistaken identities, The Importance of Being Earnest is one of Wilde’s most enduring works. Beneath the witty exchanges and outrageous situations lies a clever critique of the upper class obsession with appearances, revealing that true happiness can only be found in embracing one’s authentic self.
This special production is presented by the talented young cast of Straffan Drama Club, aged between 14 and 18 years, under the direction and edit of Geraldine O’Brien. With stunning costumes and the unique backdrop of The Orchard Garden Centre, the performance promises to be a charming and memorable evening for all who attend.
Culture Night is about celebrating creativity, community, and culture in all its forms, and we are proud to play our part by opening our doors once again. Join us for an evening of theatre, laughter, and timeless storytelling right here in Celbridge.
