The AUGUST 2025 working parties - maintenance afternoons in Long Spinney will be on:-
Wednesday 6th _ and _ Sunday 10th
* at the summer times of 2pm till 5pm *

THE MEETING POINT:

The Green Metal Container by the entrance into the Spinney from Bewick Green at the top of the hill.
*
If you arrive a bit later, just look out for us in the Spinney area!

AUGUST "To-Do" LIST :
*
After some further essential tree work around the central pond, there is a substantial amount of brash and logs that need to be moved and a bio pile created near the Forest school area.
*
The larger bits of brash can be used to repair the dead hedging where needed.
*
We will also do any strimming of the paths and cutting back any bramble and nettle growing over the paths.

TOOLS NEEDED:
( if you have them, as we only have a few spare )

= Wheelbarrow
= Spade
= Rake
= Secateurs
= Shears
.
DON'T FORGET:
.
Gardening gloves, suitable footwear such as boots or similar.
Water or similar to keep hydrated.
.
FINALLY...
There is much work ( as always ) to be done to keep Long Spinney well maintained so we need as much help as we can get from residents / Long Spinney users!

Any time you can spare to help us ( even if it's just an hour!) makes a difference and is much appreciated by the volunteers.
