Millennium Green pond

Originally a pond for livestock in what used to be a farm paddock, but is now a community asset dedicated to wildlife. Volunteers trim the boundary hedges and remove excessive growth inside the fence on the western side o admit more light to the water. As this is a sensitive site known to have highly protected great crested newts, we keep clear of the water and the boggy area on the eastern side. Meet on site, parking cars at the top of Lower Farm Road.
An earlier session at the same site on Sunday 22 February had to be cancelled for lack of known volunteers. Better luck on 8 March!
