The Forest Bridge Trust – Spring Reboot
📅 Sunday 19 October 2025
🕙 10.00am – 12.30pm
📍 Ranfurly Hall, Kaipara Flats
Spring is here – and so is the breeding season for many of our native birds. That makes this the perfect time to reboot our trapping efforts and connect as a community committed to protecting kiwi and other taonga species.
Join us at our annual Spring Reboot, where we’ll share knowledge, practical skills, and inspiration to keep predator control going strong across the Rodney area. This is your chance to learn, connect, and play a part in the growing success of our thriving native birdlife.
What’s on the programme:
Matu Booth – General Manager Conservation, presenting on our growing kiwi populations and the impact of community trapping across Rodney.
Alex Wardenaar – Predator Control Team – Insights into mustelid behaviour, trap tips, and a hands-on trap maintenance demo. Bring your traps for troubleshooting, repairs, and advice on keeping them in top condition.
Charlie Montgomery – Guidance on recording and reporting your catches using the TrapNZ app, helping you track your contribution to local conservation.
Trap Giveaway – 24 Flipping Timmy traps, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Conservation Connections – Meet local conservation groups, hear about their projects, and discover ways you can get involved.
Enjoy tea, coffee, and light refreshments while connecting with fellow trappers, landowners, and conservation enthusiasts. Share stories, swap tips, and celebrate the incredible work being done to protect our native wildlife.
This event is proudly supported by Rodney Local Board and Auckland Council.
