Golden rays spill across the lawn, beats roll like waves on a summer tide. Laughter rises, time slows, strangers turn into friends. As dusk falls, the Secret Garden awakens, a boutique club at sunset, intimate, electric, alive.
This is Better Together. At the heart of it are local legends DJs Keegan Kenny and Mark Harman, holding down the residency every month. Each event brings a special guest into the mix and carries its own Edition, one month funk, the next hip hop, then dub, rare groove or summer anthems. Different every time, but always about the same thing: great music, good company, and Sundays spent well.
It’s a free event, with plenty of room for kids to run, adults to relax, and a lawn that always turns into a dance floor as the sun dips.
We’ve just installed a brand-new Martin Audio system, the best north of the bridge, and for the opening party Nigel Love joins Keegan and Mark to set the tone for a summer that belongs to Matakana.
With support from the Love Music NZ crew, The Stables opens its doors to a series that’s open, alive, and for locals and visitors alike.
