On Friday, October 17th, the Mahoning Drive-In Theater invites you to hop in the Mystery Machine with the whole gang and get ready to solve some spooky mysteries when we present a SCOOBY-DOO SPOOK-A-ROO! (and Trunk-or-Treat, Too!)
Join Daphne, Velma, Fred, Scooby and Shaggy in their two big-screen adventures on 35mm, on a dark, cool October night, the perfect time to meet a rogues gallery of ghosts, villains, and masked mischief-makers. Grab a flashlight and join in the hunt for clues with Mystery, Inc. in these two family fright fests, with Sara Michelle Geller, Linda Cardellini, Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Matthew Lillard as they embody everyone’s favorite mystery-solving gang, with a trembling and perpetually hungry talking dog and a groovy set of wheels!
Zoinks! It’s the first live-action incarnation of SCOOBY-DOO (2002)! Our first mystery brings the gang to Spooky Island to solve the mystery of what is causing its guests to fall victim to a demonic curse (not covered by resort fees). Could this be an ancient curse? Ghosts? Aliens? Or….something else? Co-written by James Gunn, with Rowan Atkinson, Isla Fisher, and Miguel A. Nunez, Jr.
Once the mystery is solved and you’ve grabbed yourself a Scooby Snack, get ready for more mystery with SCOOBY-DOO 2: MONSTERS UNLEASHED (2004)! Jinkies! The gang is back to take on all-too-real monsters when Coolsville is overrun by a big bad boo crew bent on putting an end to Mystery, Inc! With Seth Green, Peter Boyle, Alicia Silverstone, Tim Blake Nelson and Pat O’Brien as himself!
If all of that wasn’t enough to straighten your hair and widen your eyes, we’ll be hosting a pre-show Trunk-Or-Treat, Costume Contest, plus a themed DJ set, raffle, food special and more Scooby fun!
Gates open at 6pm, showtime at 7:30.
