Join us for this rescheduled trip to Sand Rock (Cherokee Rock Village) in Leesburg, AL!
Note: Pallisades has been canceled.
Crag Description:
Sand Rock, also known as Cherokee Rock Village, is a sandstone wonderland nestled in Leesburg, Alabama, about 2.5-3.5 hours away from Atlanta. With 198 sport/trad routes (5.6-5.13d) and 34 boulder routes (V0-V8), there is something for everyone! This is a fantastic opportunity to dip your toes into outdoor climbing. Sand Rock is one of the most popular and accessible crags in the Southeast.
To enter Cherokee Rock Village, the fee is $8/car or $19/night of camping. On-site camping is allowed! This is technically a day trip, but feel free to camp, as well. There is a massive parking lot, tons of grass to camp on (including trees if you want to set up a hammock), a covered pavilion with picnic tables and electrical outlets, grills, fire pits, running water, full bathrooms with hot showers, and a playground! I believe the bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Carpool Info:
ACC is no longer organizing carpooling because so few people join. If you are still wanting to carpool, plan with your friends or post/comment on our social media platforms
