You'll learn about expanding your personal yoga practice beyond yoga poses (Asana) with these ancient Bhakti Yoga techniques for connecting with your higher self and the divine in all things. We'll hum, chant, and follow in easy, call-and-response Kirtan singing before winding down with guided meditation infused with energy healing.
All voices are good voices in Bhakti! Your willingness to show up for yourself and be vulnerable will guide you to release obstacles and barriers to greater self-compassion in this personal "path of the heart."
Bring a meditation cushion or anything you need to be comfortable in a seated position (yogi's choice!).

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢ë𝐭𝐭𝐞
Mariëtte's spiritual awakening and self-realization journey lifted off suddenly in 2017, after having just moved to Seattle from South Africa and having faced personal challenges that pushed her far beyond her limits. Non-fiction audiobooks took her from the known to the unknown, and next thing she knew, all that she was consuming was about meditation, energy healing, yoga, and spiritual awakening. She'd always sung in choirs and played instruments in South Africa, and delighted in a new awareness of spiritual downloads with intuitive songs and poetry (what?!), and a desire to make whatever unscripted noise her soul called for.
Her search for deeper connection beyond the stress of her book publishing job at a major tech company led her to become an online personal coach, and she found a new part of herself while leading online group meditation classes. She dove into yoga, completed Andanda Washington's 42-hour Raja Yoga course, and expanded her energy healing skill set with an Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Level I and II certification.
Fast forward past the pandemic and now she's living on 10 acres of paradise in the outskirts of Lee's Summit with a geeky computer engineer husband, a boisterous 18-month old baby boy, two very opinionated male cats, and two female dogs. She also loves unwinding with Japanese anime, Romantasy novels, board games, and classic RTS computer games.
