Join us for our 2nd Annual Practical Magic Day—a nod to the sass, strength, and sweetness of those beloved Owens women (yes, the Aunts too). A day made for wandering, laughing, and gathering whatever the early autumn winds choose to offer.
✨ The Attire – Come Dressed in Your Story ✨ Costumes are highly encouraged.
Come dressed as the people the townsfolk whisper about under their breath—velvet, boots, cape or no cape, wind in your hair. Or perhaps something quieter, like me: a linen apron, a lace petticoat, a basket of herbs, and a heart full of shenanigans (still gossiped about, don’t worry).
Heading to or from the Renaissance Festival? Even better. Come in your faire finery—we welcome travelers from every realm.
Each Fabled Friend Will Feature Their Own Happenings to Explore - Expect delights such as:

Once a year, as summer loosens its hold and autumn leans in, a day arrives that feels just a bit different. The air might carry woodsmoke—or still smell of sun-warmed leaves. No one can ever quite tell. What we do know is this: Practical Magic Day is when we step into the season and let the day unfold like a well-loved story.
Some arrive with friends at their side. Others find them along the way—between laughter at doorways, threads of conversation, and small discoveries tucked into every turn.
The Society of Fabled Friends will open our doors wide to welcome you into this shared chapter, meant for wandering, lingering, and carrying home something more than you came with.
🎟️ The Raffle of the Season
When you visit your very first Fabled Friend, you’ll be handed a small card—something to carry as you make your way through the day, our own version of a phone tree of sorts. Each stop will leave its mark—a little stamp of the laughter, conversations, and moments you gathered along the way.
When you reach your final Fabled Friend, you’ll leave your card with them, the quiet finish to a day worth remembering. From those who complete their adventures, one card will be chosen to win the basket of autumn goodies the Owens sisters would surely approve of, lovingly gathered from each of the Fabled Friends.
