Titus 2 Mentoring ministry’s purpose is to pair up women for a season to encourage, challenge and spur one another on to being closer to the Lord. Our heart is that every woman who wants to be mentored by another woman who is a little further in her spiritual journey, will have someone to walk for a season with them.
📆 The mentor/mentee mixer is August 24th at 11:30am in the mezzanine. Mentors will introduce themselves so that those interested in being paired with a mentor can ask questions and sign up for the fall semester.
Who can mentor? We have been called to make disciples, and a significant part of that role as a woman is to teach and encourage younger women in the faith. You don’t have to know it all or be perfect! The Lord desires to use imperfect you to point a woman younger in her faith to Him. Someone younger than you could benefit from what you have learned in your daily walk with the Lord. Wherever you are on life’s road, the experiences you have been through and the faith lessons you have learned are valuable! You have something to share.
What will mentoring look like?
•Being paired with a younger woman (age 20 & up) from TJC who has expressed an interest in being mentored.
•Committing to one semester with your mentee (Aug.- Dec. or Jan.- May)
•Aiming to meet weekly. Where, when, how long, & how often you meet will be different for each mentor pair. Be yourself. Be open and honest. Be real.
•Asking your mentee what she desires in this relationship, set goals, and expectations. This might involve a study, or it simply might be doing life together and sharing what you have learned in the Word.
•Being interested in getting to know the other person! Ask open-ended questions. Listen more than you speak. Come prepared with questions.
•Pointing the young woman to Jesus and His Word through your study, in conversation, and in response to her struggles.
•Pray for one another. Your role is distinct from a friend, so be purposeful with your time.
