The 1890s was a very prosperous time for Leamington. And with personal success, expressions of wealth and refined tastes soon follow. The clothes are long gone, but the history and architecture remain on Talbot Street West.

Learn about the men and women who designed and built these elegant homes, from a drover to a private banker to a couple of men connected with the railway.

We’ll also explore architectural styles beginning with 1880s local Vernacular and ending with Edwardian Classicism.

Starting location:

Leamington Baptist Church, 3 Fox Street. Free parking at 15 Russell Street.

About the host:

Veronica Brown moved to Kingsville in 2001 when she purchased an old Victorian house. In her spare time, Veronica started researching the history of her home. 20+ years later she researches the history of other people’s homes, and no longer has any spare time.
