Level One Kayak Class – Build Confidence, Skills & Safety on the Water
Whether you're just getting started or looking to build a stronger foundation, our Level One Kayak Course is designed to give you the skills, knowledge, and confidence to enjoy kayaking safely and effectively.

Held at our Pelee Wings beach location from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a midday break for lunch.

Pelee Wings Nature Store – 636 Point Pelee Drive, Leamington
🚣 What You’ll Learn:
This full-day course covers the essential techniques and safety fundamentals every paddler should know:
• Basic paddling mechanics and stroke techniques
• How to safely launch, land, and load your kayak
• Kayak design theory and gear essentials
• Wet exits, self-rescue, and assisted rescue techniques
• Safety considerations for solo and group paddling
• Reading weather, wind, and wave conditions
👨🏫 Professional Instruction:
Led by trained instructors in a fun, friendly environment. We prioritize safety without sacrificing enjoyment, and welcome paddlers of all experience levels—our students range from ages 8 to 75!
💲 Course Fees:
• $115 with your own kayak and gear (If your kayak doesn’t have 2 bulkheads, you may be limited to sections of the course you are able to participate in, call us if you are not sure!)
• $145 with our kayak and gear provided
