Central Jersey Choral Society Presents: Mendelssohn’s Elijah

If you’ve spent time with the Central Jersey Choral Society in the last several years, then you know Mendelssohn’s Elijah is the favorite work of Artistic Director Chris Loeffler. Chris gets very excited when asked about the work or given an opportunity to share it with others. This year, for the 90th Anniversary of the Princeton Society of Musical Amateurs, Maestro Loeffler has been invited to conduct Elijah for their session on April 6th. Unfortunately, CJCS’s last attempt to perform Elijah was cut short by the pandemic in 2020. To celebrate our 75th season and the theme of rebirth that we began with our first concert this season, CJCS: A Renaissance, we are going to resurrect that unfinished performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah for our audience. The drama will feature Metropolitan Opera bass Harold Wilson in the title role as the Prophet Elijah stands against King Ahab and Queen Jezebel to redeem the people in the eyes of God. It is an event not to be missed!

Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. Children 12 and under are free.
