A Walk in the Park with Ken Lassman

The Wakarusa Group of Sierra Club invites you to enjoy A Walk in the Prairie with us and prairie expert Ken Lassman, author of Wild Douglas County and Kaw Valley Almanac.
Prairie Park Nature Center is beautiful 100-acre nature preserve on the east side of Lawrence. The preserve features a five-acre lake, as well as wetland, woodland, and prairie environments. Visitors may walk the trails to see a wide variety of native Kansas wildlife and plants.

We will start with greetings at the Nature Center before heading on a easy trail walk with Ken to learn about native plants and the local ecosystem. We hope you'll find this event both fun, educational, and a launching point for teaming up with your local Sierra Club activists.

This event is free and open to the public. In case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.
