First Day Hike 2026

The trails will be open for hiking, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, dancing, and sledding - any movement encouraged!
The most popular trail would be the Lake Hiking Trail which is just over a mile with minor hills. We will also have a path cleared on the road around the lake for easier walking on the pavement with the other half of the road being our groomed skiing path. Dress for the weather and bring ice spikes or walking sticks to help in case of ice!

We will be stoking the fires in the Briggs Pavilion to offer a cozy respite to warm up with hot tea, cocoa, coffee, and snacks after your outdoor adventure.

Please remember to bring non-perishable food items, or personal care items to donate to the Martin Luther King Food Drive. This food drive is state-wide and runs until Mid-February 2026.

We will be doing a Gilbert Lake Merch giveaway as well! Make sure you enter your name for the drawing, winner will be contacted the following day.
