About the event

Clara Barton & Harriet Tubman in SC by Ann-Chadwell Humphries
Who knew? In 1863, both Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross, and Harriet Tubman, a formerly enslaved woman who led more than 700 enslaved persons to freedom, were both in the South Carolina Lowcountry. This presentation recognizes the contributions of both influential and powerful women and their contributions to humanity. Ann-Chadwell Humphries will tell their stories which are rarely told in full. Bring your lunch and learn. Free to the public. Sponsored by SC Humanities.
