Hobbyist historian (and Program Manager at Theatre North) Stuart Loone will take us on a journey through Lucas’ life and the beginnings of the theatre. Designed by Lucas and opened in 1911, the Princess Theatre stands as a masterpiece of early 20th-century architecture. Its grand façade, intricate interiors, and role as a cornerstone of Launceston’s arts scene make it one of the city's most treasured landmarks. Through rare archival materials, historical insights, and engaging storytelling, Stuart will highlight Lucas’s architectural vision as well as his curious penchant for collecting violins of great significance.
