Fire-Making

An immersive, in-depth day of percussive fire-making, supporting you to gain confidence in safely turning a tiny spark into a fire that will hold its own. With a focus on true flint & steel, there’s also an opportunity to explore flint & pyrites, the most ancient percussive tools. We’ll look at various tinders that can be foraged and you’ll learn how to identify, gather, prep and use them. You’ll also learn how to tend down your fire and leave no trace.

Whether you’re lighting a campfire or a fire bowl, making fire this way is truly empowering. It touches a primal part of us and is deeply satisfying.

Suitable for anyone who’s always wanted to have a go… and also for anyone who’d like to develop their existing skills. Groups are kept small to allow for individual attention, with time to focus on any specific aspects of your technique that you’d like to improve.
