“150 years of Grocery Shopping in Laramie” Sip ‘n Savor by Judy Knight

Judy Knight, one of Laramie’s favorite historians—in print and at the podium—presents our end-of-summer Sip and Savor History with insight to groceries! Such basic but necessary commodities, what did grocery shopping look like historically? How did it change with transportation options and refrigeration, not to mention the disappearance of cooks and maids formerly employed by many local households? Such a fun topic for summer history learning alongside Farmer’s Market and our attraction to bulk buying at Sam’s Club, Trader Joe’s and Costco!
Sip ‘n Savors are held at the Wyoming Women’s History House, 317 S. 2nd, Laramie, Wyoming on one Wednesday each month, nine times each year. Sip ‘n Savors begin with social gathering at 4:00 p.m., and our speaker(s) taking the podium at 4:30. We’d love to have you, but please know that since seating is limited many attendees try to arrive early.
