Michigan House Gallery Observing

We are expecting the Michigan House of Representatives to be working into the night tonight.

We invite you to join us in the gallery to see our government in action, or inaction.

Invite your friends. Let’s make sure they know we are watching by showing up in person in the gallery.

We are hearing that they will be voting on a School Aid budget although the full House has yet to see the bill.

Our teachers and principals desperately need clarity on their budgets so they can prepare their fall curriculum. But July 1st is the deadline for us to pass ALL of our budgets and the Michigan House has failed to produce a General budget that funds all kinds of programs, including Health and Human Services.

We are disappointed that our elected representatives may be breaking the law July 1 by failing to reach a budget agreement between the House, Senate and Governor, something we've been able to do year after year.
