ABOUT MICHIGAN WATERWAYS STEWARDS
We take a year-round, community-wide, collaborative approach, toward waterways stewardship. Since our start in November 2022, here in our Capital City Region, via the collective efforts of over 2,000 volunteers we have cleared more than141,000 pounds of litter, trash, and other unwanted debris from our treasured waterways, adjoining riverbanks, riverside parks, and river trail.
To improve navigating our waterways we have cleared over 30 river-wide obstructions. In addition, we have conducted five riverside park beautifications and recently just gifted our capital city with a NEW .6-mile Red Cedar Riverside Park.
We have much to boast about here in our Capital City Region. We have even more reason to celebrate.
