About the event

Interurbans Carried More Than People
Join the Historical Society of Greater Lansing for two programs this week. On Thursday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. Norman Krentel, author of the new book on the history of Michigan Railway Co., which provided trolley and interurban service to Lansing and the surrounding area will discuss this lost part of transportation history.
Krentel was a Lansing native and attended Walter French Junior High School before his family relocated to Chicago. He has spent a lifetime studying the interurban and trolley systems and his book “The Michigan Railway Company” published by MSU Press is the first book on the system’s storied history. Event to be held at the Rogers-Carrier House on the campus of L.C.C. Books will be for sale.
