Lumber Legacy Day

Try to master some of the skills of the lumbermen that were in this area during the 1800’s. Ax throwing, cross-cut saw, log rolling, horse-shoe throw, and pinecone toss are some of the activities to try! Then, check out the members of the PA Lumberjack Association in the field at Pavilion 8. The Nittany Valley Wood Turners, Exotic Edventures, live music, crafters, and food vendors will also be available.

Guest speaker on Friday night!
July 19 (Friday)
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm-Whistles In The Woods
Join guest speaker, Paul Fagley, to discover the lumbering history of Pennsylvania! Steam locomotives, such as the shay locomotive, were used during the largest era of lumbering. Find out interesting facts about them and watch a short lumber movie from 1926! Meet at the Environmental Learning Center.
