REMINDER - This Saturday, September 20th - Earth Festival in Lansdowne!
Come have fun at the L.E.A.F., the Lansdowne EArth Festival!!!
On Saturday, September 20 from 11 AM to 2 PM, join Lansdowne’s party for the whole family at the 20th Century Club (84 South Lansdowne Avenue)! The Earth is beautiful and amazing, and we’re going to celebrate it. Major fun will happen, rain or shine.
The theme this year is “Experiencing the Ripple Effects of Our Actions on the Environment.” We are encouraging kids to be superheroes for the Earth, so we’ll have costumed Superman and Spiderman entertainers, along with a stilt walker, all courtesy of Jazzy Entertainment. There’ll also be face painting, nature crafts for kids, a live string band, a family dance party, a wildlife rehabilitator with her demonstration animals, a nature-themed activity from Lansdowne’s children’s librarian, and useful information about recycling, gardening, and protecting nature in the Borough.
If the weather is good, there will also be a guided nature walk, group gardening to add new plants in the garden around the 20th Century Club, and a historic preservation expert guiding a walk nearby and telling stories about the histories of nature and industries in our area.
These events are for everyone, ages 2 weeks through 105! And all that fun will be FREE! There will also be food, some of it free and some for sale, so you can enjoy lunch at the festival.
