Hands-on workshops: Coconut leaf weaving or Lei making

Experience the spirit of aloha with two immersive, hands-on workshops led by cultural artisans Mario Siatris and ʻUʻi Kahue, visiting from Lahaina, Maui. These master weavers will guide you through traditional Hawaiian practices using one of Moloka‘i’s most cherished natural materials—coconut fronds.

🌴Workshop Options:
- Ulana Lau Niu (Coconut Leaf Weaving)
Craft your own pāpale (coconut hat) with Mario Siatris

- Lei Wili (Braided Lei Making)
Create a beautiful kupeʻe (wristlet) or lei poʻo (head lei) with ʻUʻi Kahue using haku (braided) techniques

Take home a unique, hand-crafted souvenir and help keep these cultural traditions alive.
