This is a clear and simple two day skills class that fills in the knowledge gaps. The skills covered in this course are prerequisite knowledge for all Microsoft Office and other computer courses.
Using both Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel you will go on an in-depth tour familiarizing yourself with the Microsoft Office environment.
You will be introduced to the Microsoft Ribbon system and Quick Access toolbar, learning proper Microsoft terminology throughout.
You will cover extensive topics, with much hands-on practice, in both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel programs.
Your work in documents will supplement your Windows skills used in Microsoft Office, as well as introduce you to creating and managing a file system.
Windows skills covered will include learning surrounding:
- Files
- Folders
- The Microsoft Windows documents storage area
- Learning the difference between “save” & “save as”
- What it means to open a file
- Saving files to, and opening files from, specific folders
- Creating, naming & renaming folders
- Opening a folder to access its contents
- Moving files to new folders
- Taking advantage of shortcut tools available in the documents area
- Using the recycle bin
This class is recommended for students who have taken Computer Basics Level One or have equivalent experience.
