In this month's Sound & Silence we will be incorporating and honouring Diwali - the Indian festival of Lights that celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and the blessings of victory, freedom, and enlightenment. The name comes from Sanskrit Deepavali, meaning “row of lights.”
The goddess Laksmi is celebrated here - we appreciate the abundance we already have in our lives and, through the Lights, invite Laksmi into our homes to ensure we have continued abundance in the year to come...
Diwali starts on Monday 20th October this year, and finishes around the 21st. Our practise will include yoga, chant, and meditation to bring Light to our mind, body and heart. We complete with a Diwali themed Yoga Nidra.
Chant and mantra have been used for health, healing and spiritual connection for thousands of years. This is an authentic practice, no bells or whistles, simple, gentle, calm.
Chanting together can be a magical experience, a palpable form of energetic healing that quietens the mind, the body and soothes our hearts.
No previous experience is required as I teach the chant via Call & Response (and you have handouts too). The yoga is slow, gentle and soothing.
Enjoy organic herbal teas and tasty treats at the end of our practice together.
You'll need a yoga mat, light weight blanket, your water bottle - and you...just as you are.
I'm so looking forward to sharing this special afternoon retreat with you.
