TNPS Field Trip: The Point Trail at Obed Wild and Scenic River

Description: This is a joint outing for TNPS and TCWP. The trail runs along the top of bluffs that lead to the confluence of the Obed River and Clear Creek. There are a lot of fun wildflowers out on the bluffs, and well as beautiful views of the river.

Meeting Places/Times:
1. Parking lot at the trailhead for Lilly Bluff Overlook and The Point (920 Ridge Rd, Lancing, TN 37770) at 10:00 AM Eastern.
2. Oak Ridge at the Gold’s Gym/Books-A-Million parking lot (meet at the end close to S. Illinois Avenue, near Salsarita’s) in time to leave Oak Ridge at
9:00 AM Eastern.

Difficulty: The trail is moderate with some strenuous spots. It’s 3.8 miles round trip.

Facilities: The trailhead has bathrooms.

Lunch: Bring water, lunch, and bug spray
