Hand-drawn Mandala – A peaceful project, one pen stroke at a time.
Add serenity and intention to your living space with this hand-drawn Mandala, using Zentangle principles and mindful pen strokes.
Mandalas are represented in many cultures for their grounded focus, centering energy and general wholeness of life. Our Mandala will embrace these ideas along with mindfulness and relaxation.
While the completed design looks complicated, the actual process of drawing it is quite calming. With purpose and focus, we choose one pen stroke and repeat it around the circle. Then we choose another pen stroke and repeat that. Focusing on one line at a time, without judgement or perfection, allows our minds and bodies to relax and embrace the process. Before you know it, a gorgeous Mandala comes into view.
I can already hear your inner voices. “But I can’t draw.” “I’m not creative.” “I can never draw something that beautiful.” But I’m going to challenge that. What if you can?! What if your inner voice is holding you back? What if you can exceed your expectations?
If you can hold a pen or write your name, then you can create this Mandala! All levels of experience are welcome, and I will walk you through every step with encouragement and positive energy.
Whether you are seeking a visual anchor for mindfulness, a meaningful piece of art, or simply a calming creative project, this mandala offers more than beauty. It offers a moment of peace captured on paper.
All supplies are included and are yours to keep. There will be a half hour break for lunch. Students are welcome to bring a packed lunch or there are many take out options within walking distance of the Guild.
A materials fee of $25 is included in the tuition.
