Characters! A Drop-In Class by Griffin

About the Class: This 2-hour improv class is designed to help performers make bold, memorable character choices with confidence. Through a series of activities and exercises, you'll explore how to fully embody an alternate persona on stage using physicality, voice, and emotional depth. Learn to step outside your comfort zone by embracing the fun and freedom of experimenting with new voices/accents or physical choices, and discover how that process is much easier than you might think! This workshop will equip performers of all experience levels with the knowledge and tools to take creative risks and make lasting impressions with your characters.

Drop-In Classes Signup Policy: Drop-in classes are "pay what you will" with a recommended donation of $15. You must sign up prior to 7pm on the Thursday before the class. In this case, 9/25 by 7pm. We may extend the sale AFTER that time if we have enough signed up to run the class, so don't wait to sign up! You must signup on Eventbrite! If you show up without signing up on Eventbrite, you will be asked to sign up at the door or will be turned away!

About the teacher: Griffin has been acting, performing, and improvising for more than a decade. After joining up with LIP in 2021, Griffin has performed on multiple teams, including the critically acclaimed Peach Soda and the LIP Touring Company. On stage, Griffin loves to embody vivid characters in mind, body, and voice.

Parking: There is street parking around the theater on Prince St, King St, and Vine St, which is not metered after 6pm and not metered Sundays! The parking garages are open. Steinman Garage, Prince St Garage, and Duke St Garage are recommended in that order! On the weekends the garage is $5 for the whole day!
