Lagos to host International Water Summit
Lagos State Government has concluded arrangements to host its maiden Waterfront Infrastructure Development Summit.
This according to the government is part of efforts to chart a course towards protecting the state water bodies, promote sustainable use of the waterways and preserve its huge socio-economic potentials to the benefit of the State.
Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu while briefing the journalists ahead of the summit slated for September 11, 2025, explained that the event would redefine the future of urban waterfronts globally and revolutionised waterfront development.
Alebiosu maintained that the summit with the theme: “Pressure on the Lagoon; The Lagos Experience”, scheduled for Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, will be attended by over 500 international experts.
While describing the Lagos Lagoon as under intense pressure from both human-driven and climate‐related factors, he enjoined stakeholders to rally around and support the State Government towards reducing the pressure on the lagoons.
