This is to formally notify the general public, the Muslim Ummah, and all esteemed stakeholders that December 6, 2025 has been officially designated for the Grand Turbaning Ceremony of the Chief Imam of Oyo Kingdom. This historic event is being convened under the distinguished authority of the Office of the Imam, and with the explicit sanction, royal approval, and esteemed blessings of:
His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo.
On this auspicious occasion, the Royal Court, the Council of Ulama, eminent personalities, invited dignitaries, and the noble people of Oyo Kingdom shall assemble in solemn recognition and ceremonial honour for the formal turbaning of:
SHAYKH IMAM BILLAL HUSAYN AKINOLA AKEUGBERU
Chief Imam of Oyo.
Bi idhnillahi Subhaanahu wa Ta‘aala, this royal-endorsed ceremony signifies the continued synergy between the Throne and the Sacred Office of the Imam, reflecting the enduring partnership between traditional authority and spiritual leadership in safeguarding the moral, religious, and communal well-being of the Oyo Kingdom.
