Young Authors Night Out – Meet an author and become one yourself!
Get ready for a story-filled evening at Flourish! We’re teaming up with local children’s book author, Julia Kolouch, creator of No Pockets? No Problem!, for a very special Kid’s Night Out. We’ll start with a live reading of Julia’s book, followed by a fun Q&A where kids can ask all about what it’s like to write, illustrate, and publish a story.
Then, the creativity begins! Each young artist will dream up their own short story, bring it to life with illustrations, and turn it into their very own mini book to take home.
This is the perfect night for imaginative kids who love books, storytelling, and art.
Parents, enjoy a night to yourself while your kids make literary magic at the studio!

Kid’s Night Out is the ultimate combo of fun + freedom! It’s a magical drop-off event where kids can make friends, get creative, and enjoy a screen-free evening of hands-on projects — all while parents get a break and an opportunity to explore downtown.
What to Bring:
Please bring a refillable water bottle and all your creative energy! All materials are provided. A dairy-free popcorn snack will be served — please eat food before arriving.
NOTES:
Suggested age range: 8–12 years old
Drop-off workshop: check-in and out should be no more than 5 minutes before/after the event time.
