Beginning Garment Sewing

This is a great class to learn new or refresh your sewing skills. We will use the Love Notions Harmony Blouse pattern to make a simple woven pull on top. This pattern has many sleeve options and a key hole opening at the back neck. Sizes XS-5X and has a full bust option. So once you make one, you can make the other versions!

With the top we will be making you will learn the following skills: using patterns from the internet, how to fit a pattern to you, cutting out fabric, sewing-seams, darts, facings, sleeves, hems.

Class 1:
- We will discuss how to purchase and download the pattern Love Notions Harmony Blouse.
- Measuring to determine size of pattern and how much fabric you will need
- Talking about the best fabrics to use
- Discuss the supplies you will need. (Some supplies will be available for purchase)

Class 2:
- Tracing off pattern
- Checking fit and making any alterations needed
- Cutting out pattern on fabric

Class 3:
- Staystitching
- Interfacing
- Sewing shoulder seams
- Sewing on facings
- Sewing darts

Class 4:
- Sewing side seams
- Putting in sleeves
- Hems
