Our Art Play on the Farm class brings the joy of messy play to a charming farm setting, complete with real animal encounters and fresh country air! Designed for toddlers through elementary-aged children, this playful and process-focused class takes place at the beautiful Wea Valley Farmhouse (4710 S. 9th St., Lafayette, IN, 47909), where little artists can create, explore, and connect with nature and farm life. Each session includes 8–10 hands-on stations filled with sensory materials, open-ended art experiences, and interactive opportunities to observe or gently engage with ducks, chickens, goats, cows, and more.
The Importance of Messy Play + Animal Encounters:
Combining messy, creative exploration with time spent in nature and around animals helps children regulate emotions, build empathy, and engage all five senses in meaningful ways. These farm-based experiences support early childhood development by promoting motor skills, sensory processing, communication, and social interaction—all while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and creativity. There’s something truly magical about getting messy with a paintbrush in one hand and goats watching from the fence!
What to Bring:
Dress for a mess—and for the farm! We recommend clothes that can get dirty, closed-toe shoes or boots, and a change of clothes for the ride home. Be sure to pack water bottles, sun protection, and anything your child may need for outdoor play. A restroom is available on site. If your child has any allergies, please note them on the participant waiver and let us know directly so we can accommodate their needs.

Registration is only required for our little artists.
Grown-ups attend for free but must stay and play.
Class is $18 per child (sibling discount available).
In the case of inclement weather, cancellations will be communicated by 8:00 AM on the class day.
