STREET TO STREAM LITTER PICK-UP in Lake Cowichan

CELEBRATE World Clean up Day! Join the Town of Lake Cowichan “STREET TO STREAM LITTER PICK-UP” Sunday Sept 14th.

Why join in? Because litter doesn’t just disappear – especially plastic litter – it breaks down into finer and finer particles. When the plastic pieces get small enough they get into the organs and tissues of fish, animals and humans – causing serious health issues!

Picking-up paper and plastic litter – bottle caps, plastic candy wrappers, zip ties and plastic bottles from our streets and parks stops it from washing into storm sewers and natural streams and ending up in our beautiful Cowichan Lake and River. This means a healthier environment.
