Community Speaker: Justin Patchin with Online Safety

Justin Patchin is a professor of criminal justice at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Since 2002, his research has explored the intersection of teens and technology, with particular focus on cyberbullying, social networking, and sexting. He co-founded and co-directs the Cyberbullying Research Center and has authored nine books and numerous academic and professional articles on adolescent behaviors online.

Doors open at 5pm, the event is from 5:30-6:30pm. Rusk County Youth Council will be providing free small popcorn to those in attendance and each person will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Kwik Trip card.

Students at Ladysmith, OLS, Flambeau, and North Cedar Academy will be hearing him speak. Join us to hear how you can help keep youth safe and talk with them about online safety. He will be sharing tips and trends affecting youth.

This event was made possible by the Marshfield Clinic System's Community Health Funding Grant. Thank you for awarding Rusk County Youth Council with funding to support two school speakers and a community speaker.
