Celebrating 27 years! Arts on the Avenue is a juried art festival that brings together over 60 fine artists from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Held in the heart of Ladysmith on 1st Avenue, the event transforms the downtown into a vibrant open-air gallery.
Taking place on Sunday, August 24 from 10 AM to 4 PM, the festival draws thousands of visitors each year. It offers a unique opportunity to experience and purchase original artwork, meet the artists—including this year’s featured painter Patti Ransom—and enjoy live art demos, music, a paint competition, a youth art zone, food trucks, and a beer garden (Bayview Brewing) and sidewalk sale hosted by the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association. Arts on the Avenue is a celebration of creativity, community, and West Coast culture—perfect for art lovers of all ages.
