Military Makers Workshop: CNC Plasma Cut Sign

Create a Custom Metal Sign – Free for Military Members & Families

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to use a plasma cutter to craft your very own custom metal sign! Whether you're new to metalworking or looking to sharpen your skills, this class offers a great introduction to cutting techniques and computer aided design.

At the end of the class, you’ll take home a unique metal sign that you designed and cut yourself – perfect for home décor, gifts, or a personalized keepsake.

All materials and safety equipment provided. No experience necessary – just bring your creativity!

Instructor Bio
Arnold served 12.5 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, followed by 15 years in the Army Reserve as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), retiring after 27 years and 9 months of military service. He then continued his work in healthcare as a civilian LPN at Madigan Army Medical Center for approximately 21 years, retiring once again. Now enjoying a well-earned retirement, Arnold is exploring new skills and creative pursuits at Lacey MakerSpace—carving, making, and learning to play the ukulele and guitar.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

• Closed toe shoes are required.
• Pants. No shorts, no synthetic materials (Preferable: jeans, leathers, cotton)
• Additional PPE will be provided (leather jackets, gloves, eye protection etc.)
• Ages 12 and up can attend. Attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian present at all times.
