A two month program June 21- August 16, 2025.
To whom:
• Single Christian women 21-45 years old interested in religious life
• Willing to live in an intergenerational environment
• Willing to live a celibate life while in the program
• Willing to pray and work in community
• Willing to receive training or to be in formation
This is an intensive, formative, monastic living program.
Arrival –Monday June 21 - 1 PM
The Benedictine Explorers will work 4 hours a day:
• Washing dishes
• Work outdoors part of each day on the monastery grounds
• Working on the social media for Vocations talking about their experience living at the monastery (Instagram, Facebook, etc.,)
• Hospitality at the Center &/or Sunday mass
• Assist a sister on her job.
The Benedictine Explorers will receive formation:
• The Rule of Benedict. Intro
• Non-Violent Communication
• Shadow work
• Praying the Psalms
• They might participate in some of the Center programs
They will experience Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina, praying the Liturgy of the Hours with the sisters.
• Each Benedictine explorer will be assigned a sister for spiritual direction.
• Follow the rhythm of prayer, work and leisure each day
• Participate in Recreation with the sisters
• Enjoy holy conversation, silence and quiet discerning time
Departure August 16, 2025
An Explorer is free to leave the program any time after previous consultation and/or St. Placid can release her anytime, with previous consultation.
Sister Paz will be in charge of the program and will meet weekly with the Benedictine Explorers for individual check-in and group check-in.
