Auditions are open to those 8 years of age and above as of show opening on Nov 21, 2025. We are seeking mature, young performers with strong dance skills and the ability to memorize and sing vocal harmonies confidently for an eight member
children’s choir. Parents must be willing to volunteer time with the company as well if their child is cast.
Auditions will be held on stage at the Port Tobacco Players Theater at 508 Charles Street, La Plata, MD.
Please park in the town parking lot across the railroad tracks from the side of the theater. (Do not use the parking lot for the urgent care center; you will be towed.)

PLEASE PREPARE:
16 to 32 bars of a classical or contemporary musical theater selection (provide sheet music; no a cappella; no recordings).
Please come prepared to list any conflicts you would have during the rehearsal process from September – November 2025 (vacations, classes, work, travel, etc.).
PRODUCTION DATES:
Rehearsals will be on Mondays and Wednesday evenings and Saturdays beginning September 1, 2025.
Scheduled performance dates are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Nov 21 to Dec 14, 2025. Brush up rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays Nov 26, Dec 3 and Dec 10, 2025. Tech rehearsals are from Nov 8 to Nov 20, 2025. Please note that performers cast must be available for all four performance weekends, brush up rehearsals and tech rehearsals.
SHOW SYNOPSIS:
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a fun sung-through musical retelling the biblical story of Joseph, Jacob’s favorite son. The story follows Joseph, who receives a colorful coat to signify his importance and has prophetic dreams that upset his brothers.
