Pro Civitate Dei 2025

Pro Civitate Dei is not just another summer program—it is a radical reaffirmation of the fullness of Catholic culture, lived in its intellectual, liturgical, and fraternal dimensions.

Since 2015, Pro Civitate Dei has gathered serious-minded young Catholics in pursuit of truth. With operations in four countries, this annual program in the heart of the French Riviera remains our flagship, bringing together American and European undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals for a week of solemn liturgy, rigorous intellectual exchange, and the restoration of Christian conviviality.

Our past attendees have drawn heavily from Harvard, Princeton, Notre Dame, the Cardinal Newman schools, law, and business, creating a network of alumni engaged in the renewal of Christian civilization.

Our faculty and attendees reject the timid half-measures of institutional conservatism. Unlike BigCon’s curated safe spaces, Pro Civitate Dei is not hampered by an agenda. We profess the Catholic faith in its entirety, without equivocation, without permission, and without concern for how the modern world reacts.

At Pro Civitate Dei, we speak of three priorities, in order and in emphasis:

1. The Solemn Liturgy – Our first end is to worship God. Everything else follows.

1. Christian Conviviality – We cultivate true Catholic culture, where the faith permeates everything, from table to conversation.

1. Rigorous Intellectual Debate – Inquiry is not confined to a classroom; it unfolds in the context of worship and friendship, where truth is pursued as a shared endeavor.

These three priorities define the spirit of Pro Civitate Dei—a place where faith, culture, and reason are integrated, not compartmentalized.

Who Can Apply?

Pro Civitate Dei welcomes undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals. Admissions are competitive and granted on a rolling basis with limited spots available.

Registration Fees & Scholarships

There are two tiers of registration:

• €1650 – Standard fee for young professionals & students with university funding.

• €650 – Scholarship rate for undergraduates who have exhausted other means.

For most participants, once you arrive in La Londe, you will incur no noticeable expenses, apart from souvenirs or personal items.

What Your Registration Includes

• Lodging, meals, and drinks June 13–20 (departure early June 21)

• Instruction in wine, apéritifs, and proper hospitality

• A day trip to the island of Porquerolles

• Pilgrimage along an ancient Christian route

• Daily lectures from distinguished faculty

• Assistance in planning international travel (airfare not included)

Liturgical Life

Each day, the program is anchored by:

• Solemn High Mass

• The fully chanted Divine Office: Prime, Vespers, and Compline

This is not an academic seminar with a liturgical component. It is an immersion in the Catholic life as it was meant to be lived.

A Unique Experience

The vigorous discussion of subjects in our talks continues outside the classroom—over coffee, at table, during apéritifs, in the late-night salon, and on the shores of the Mediterranean, in a convivial setting with noted professors and scholarly youth, surrounded by the remains of a Catholic France which is rightfully ours.
