About the event

Be Still and Know (Zoom)
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted in the earth.” -- Psalm 46:10

When we embrace stillness in nature, we might be surprised by what we hear. It might sound like love. Deepen your relationship with creation through mindfulness and interbeing with nature. You will listen and participate via a phone or iPad while outside. We begin with a 20-minute guided meditation and continue with gentle, slow and sensory explorations. This Association of Nature and Forest Therapy-structured sequence was grown from the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku or “forest bathing.” We bathe in the atmosphere of the forest (or the ecosystem we're in) and listen for the voice of the Spirit.

"Heart-based Relational Forest Therapy is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, ‘forest bathing.’ Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and improving mood and cognition. We build on those benefits and look beyond, to what happens when people remember that we are a part of nature, not separate from it, and are related to all other beings in fundamental ways." - Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.
