About the event

Smile English Rakugo Show in Kyoto

Five performers will present rakugo stories and a bamboo mat show in English at Seiganji Temple in Kyoto on May 18. Admission is free.

Seiganji is called the the birthplace of rakugo because Anrakuan Sakuden, who is considered the father of rakugo, served as head priest in the early 17th century.
