Sunda Talks @Rimba Ilmu, UM: Venture into the Sublime World of Caves & Karst

In conjunction with 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑫𝒂𝒚, also known as the 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒖𝒃𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅, Sunda Talks returns to 𝗥𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮 𝗜𝗹𝗺𝘂, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮 on 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝗽𝗺-𝟲𝗽𝗺 for another series of afternoon talks, this time focusing on the fascinating 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮. Our marvelous 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 as we call it are loaded with caves, unique assemblages of threatened plants and animals, and opportunities for geotourism activities. However, this important ecosystem is threatened by quarrying and unsustainable tourism.

We bring together an exciting line up of speakers who will shine a light on key aspects of our geological heritage.
